Interview “Inside out”: Stéphane Danan, Program Manager & Silver Cloud Certified
We are delighted to launch today a new interview format designed to highlight our colleagues: “Face Cachée”! The idea? Give the floor to the women and men who make BNP Paribas Personal Finance what it is, across all our geographies. They are passionate about their their work, committed, and change lines at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, or in their personal lives.
For this first edition, we welcome Stéphane Danan, Move2cloud Program Director at PF-IT Corporate AND, recently certified Cloud Silver.
An engineer by training (Centrale Supelec), Stéphane joined the BNP Paribas Group 22 years ago and BNP Paribas Personal Finance 5 years ago.
Hello Stéphane, what’s your “Unexpected Job”?
Hello, I’d say I’m the “Orchestra conductor of our movers to the clouds”.
My role is to help BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s IT teams in France and abroad, to install their applications in the BNP Paribas Cloud.
On a daily basis, I can’t do anything without my amazing team of movers!
I work with about a dozen people: Cloud architects, project leaders for international coordination and Cloud compliance, and Cloud developers.
I can summarise my work in 3 words: Exchange, Share and Report.
- I exchange with local Cloud managers from each entity to identify the most efficient way to move their applications and provide them with the appropriate support.
- I share with my team the requests or difficulties that have been raised to find relevant solutions.
- I report progress to PF-IT management and the Group.
In conclusion, my job involves a lot of communication!
🦸♂️What’s your “little something extra”?
Last May, I became the first PF employee to obtain a Cloud Silver Certification. To scare you a bit with some technical terms: this certification relates to the FinOps domain – an abbreviation for financial operations.
So, my role straddles between a financial expert and a Cloud architect: I help define the most suitable and efficient architectures in order to optimise use and costs.
Migrating to the Cloud is great, but it has to be done efficiently, integrating the business component. As you can see, migration to the Cloud is much more than a technical project; it provides real added value to BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s businesses and countries by supporting them in this process.
I’m really pleased with this second professional role, which makes me part of a small community of 50 BNP Paribas experts contributing to the advancement of FinOps practices within the Group!
✨ The mascot has a magic wand, what are your 3 wishes for BNP Paribas Personal Finance?
- Results that quickly make us forget the Voluntary Departure Plan and allow us to restart on a good dynamic.
- To always maintain this entrepreneurship spirit unique to BNP Paribas Personal Finance.
- A reduction in interest rates and inflation that would benefit BNP Paribas Personal Finance, purchasing power, and the property market…
😃 Because life is not just about work, what are your “3 Blissful Moments a Day”?
- Changing the world with my friends and laughing with them.
- Reading a good book on my sun lounger by the pool (or in bed if I don’t have access to the pool).
- Challenging my son in table tennis – he has followed me in this sport, where I have competed for many years, but now, I must use all sorts of tricks to avoid getting beaten… the pupil has surpassed the master!
