BNP Paribas Personal Finance is committed to more responsible IT!

BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s IT teams are committed to improving Personal Finance’s environmental and societal impact by implementing more sustainable IT.  This approach is structured by the “Positive IT” programme, which is part of the BNP Paribas Group’s strategy, the “PF Commitment Manifesto” and the IT PF Impulse strategy.

This collective work, carried out by the employees, is now bearing fruit since it rewards a first initiative, conducted as a pilot at two Shared Services Centres: the Central Europe Technologies (CE.T – in Romania) and the South Europe Technologies (SE.T – in Spain) which have been labelledSustainable IT” since December 2022.

What is Responsible IT?

According to the Institut du Numérique Responsable (INR), this term refers to the continuous improvement approach aimed at reducing the company’s ecological, economic and social footprint.

What does this label mean and why is it so important for employees?

Awarded by the INR, this label aims to recognize the framework put in place by the Shared Services Centres that put responsible digital at the heart of their activities. This approach is based above all on a desire for continuous improvement that addresses the review of the Governance, the Strategy, the Application Life Cycle, the Eco-design and the Societal Impact of the Shared Services Centres.

In other words, this process allows both to structure the approach of our teams, to bring the method, while prioritizing initiatives with the greatest concrete impact.

However, getting this label is only the beginning of the adventure! After the evaluation of the Information System and the audit of the action plan, our teams will have 18 months to carry out the commitments made. At the end of this period, a new audit will take place to ensure the continuity of this first stage. After 3 years, the labeling process is renewed. Other countries have expressed their interest in Sustainable IT and this first victory can only extend to other geographies.

The teams immediately accepted the challenge and committed themselves to it with fervor. This label is the result of 10 months of work for the CE. T and SE.T teams. that I share with pride! Congrats! I encourage other entities to join this process and develop a more sustainable digital environment, and I invite our businesses to build on these successes beyond PF’s IT.
