Global Money Week 2024: Financial education for young people, one of the strong commitments of Personal Finance
The Global Money Week returns for the 12th consecutive year from 18 to 24 March 2024
For BNP Paribas Personal Finance, this is an opportunity to highlight the initiatives we are proposing on financial learning for young people and to reaffirm our commitment N°6: “Contribute to financial education and awareness of sustainable consumption.”
Indeed, as highlighted in the 2024 theme “Protect your money, secure your future”, it is essential to educate young people, from an early age, on financial issues and to give them the opportunity to gradually acquire knowledge, The skills, attitudes and behaviours needed to make informed financial decisions.
Beyond the Global Money Week…
Several initiatives are proposed throughout the year:
- There is the budget responsible platform, that is available in France, Belgium and Italy.
- In France, more than 100 volunteer employees lead workshops around the game Dilemma of the Cresus federation with young people in integration. Since 2014, more than 4,000 young people have attended more than 480 2-hour workshops.
- In Portugal, joint actions with NGOs including Junior Achievement are carried out.
- At Findomestic in Italy, the Percorsi Young program created in 2013 for high school students offers a wide range of activities:
- 21 webinars on key financial topics (bank account, credit card, cybersecurity, financial markets, credit risk, etc.) take place in 2023 and 2024.
- Finance courses taught by Findomestic employees are offered.
- the Findomestic Camp, which brings together teams of students each year over two days in Florence and allows participants to challenge themselves on the creation of products or services that would strengthen financial education among young people.
- the PCTO program: “find your future” offers an immersion course within Findomestic, to develop their soft skills and help them in their professional orientation.
