Finance at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, more than just numbers

When people think of “corporate finance team,” they often picture Excel spreadsheets, financial statements, and mysterious acronyms. But at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the Finance Department is above all a strategic, agile, and action-oriented function at the very heart of the business.

It’s not just about accounting or management control. While these areas are part of the job, they represent only one facet of a much broader, more structures function that plays a central role in ensuring the company runs smoothly.

A key role in driving the business forward

The Finance Department plays a strategic role in steering and developing the company. It doesn’t just report numbers: it anticipates challenges, supports decision-making, ensures financial security, builds frameworks, and provides valuable insight.

Closely aligned with the BNP Paribas Group, this cross-functional department acts as a true business partner, helping to move projects forward in support of responsible, sustainable finance.

A structured, international organization

At headquarters, the Finance Department is built around six complementary divisions:

  • Corporate Accounting, ensuring the accuracy and transparency of financial statements across all BNP Paribas Personal Finance entities worldwide.
  • Performance Steering, guiding performance, informing strategic decisions, and supporting business ambitions.
  • ALM-Treasury (ALMT), managing financial balance and liquidity risks.
  • Financial Structuring, developing tailored financial solutions to support strategic initiatives.
  • Operating Office, optimizing internal methods, tools, and processes to boost efficiency.
  • ECB Relations, managing interactions with the European Central Bank and regulatory authorities.

These diverse areas of expertise work together in synergy to support PF’s financial strength.

A local presence, close to the business

Beyond the central teams, Finance is also a global network. In each region and country where BNP Paribas Personal Finance operates, local Finance Managers adapt major financial priorities to the unique challenges of their markets. It’s a moedl designed to support overall performance.

Between expectations and reality…

Numbers everywhere, people speaking in abbreviations, a shared passion fo Excel macros… Finance professions often come with a set of persistent stereotypes. To help set the record straight – and challenge a few clichés – we invite you to watch a video based on the “Expectations VS Reality” concept. It introduces three of the department’s main teams: ALMT, Corporate Accounting, and Performance Steering.
